I still have fond memories.
of my years on the farm.
My grandpa walking tall,
with me in his arms.

Man

Oh I still remember me,
in my little black rubber boots.
Following that tall man,
with the big loud voice.

Man

I remember his smile,
it seemed as big as could be.
I watched as he chopped wood,
and cut down the trees.

Man

He tended his farm,
with so much love and hard work.
Potatoes farmers we were,
in them Nellie Lake fields.
Plowing, planting and hoeing
in them hills.

Man

The little girl
in the black rubber boots
helped her grandpa,
with their few cows, chickens
and strawberry patches,
a few dogs and kittens.

Man

Sitting on his knee on the tractor she would ride,
her little heart filled with so much pride.
Oh that little girl in the black rubberboots,
loved her grandpa dearly,
and followed his roots.

Man

But now the little girl in the black rubber boots,
is very sad to say.
Her wonderful loving grandpa,
has passed away.
She misses him more
with each passing day.

Man

She still lives with the fond memories
of that big strong man today.
Still wondering if he is up there,
tending his fields
and watching the little girl,
as she follows
his big black rubber boots today.

Man
