Grandma's Song

Music: "Green Green Grass Of Home"

In a little three room farm house,
Where I grew up strong and free,
I was raised on country sunshine.
and I used to climb oak trees.
Our home was full of love
and like my grandma used to say,
Be sure you thank the good Lord.
For each and everyday.

Yes my grandma used to sing a song,
I still remember well.
"Come to the church in the wildwood,
stay away from the man from hell."
I remember all her favorite songs,
as we danced around the room.
Step dancing and laughing,
while keeping right in tune.

And then one day she grew to an age,
she could dance no more.
The good Lord came and took her home,
through that beautifull golden door.
I still sometimes hear her sing,
that Wild Wood song to me.
She'll always live within my heart,
and her smiling face I'll see.

And as the years pass by,
I'm just like my grandma too.
I like to sing the old songs.
And my love for music grew.
I love to sing of years gone bye,
and step my feet up high,
And thats the way im gonna live,
until the day I die.

This is dedicated to my Grandma Leah McQuoid.
The lady that gave me my inspiration ...
my love
and who I am today.
A women who will never be forgotten
only missed more as the years go by.
I love you Grandma
