Music: "An Angel"
Journey of the Spirit
We all part this earth
in different ways,
in different seasons ...
on different days.
We never know when the hands
on the clock will stop,
and we move on
to our "heavenly place".
Some leave when their body
has grown old and tired,
some have lost their battle
to an unbeatable illness.
Some so very young ...
their body just too weak to carry on
and then there are those
who never took a first breath.
The last trip down
that old country road
we all follow in tribute
... of our loved one's
very last ride.
Knowing each of us must,
take this last journey someday.
Left behind to grieve
standing by their grave
with broken hearts.
Trying to let go of someone
they loved very much,
all the while ...
knowing a part of them
is buried within that casket.
When we lose someone
we love very much
we believe they have died.
But that is so far from the truth
for only their body is gone.
The body only houses
the spirit and soul.
For a spirit can never die ...
It gently leaves the body,
and it begins its spiritual journey.
That same spirit can be back again
to another lifetime if it wishes,
or choose to stay on its
spiritual journey.
Lost spirits linger close by ...
not ready to leave,
or a sudden death,
leaves some spirits confused
and it takes time for it to move on.
So many of us think our loved ones
are buried deep into the earth's chest.
but it really isn't so
for their spirit is with us
not in some quiet peaceful cemetery.
For after all ...
where do you think angels come from?
